The Clarinet Commission Collective is a project to help individual clarinetists pool their resources to commission works from major composers. The project mission is to involve as many people as possible in each commissioning project, to encourage local premieres and repeat performances, and to raise awareness of and access to new music for clarinet.
Anyone may participate, whether amateur, student or professional. Your small donation is pooled together with donations from other clarinetists all over the world, and each year the collected funds will be used to commission a work from a recognized composer.
Composers will be selected by an Artistic Advisory Board comprised of leaders in the field, but all suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.
Your charitable donation is tax-deductible, and you can be certain that your donated funds will be used for the purpose intended. Clarinet CoCo is a fiscally sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a nationally recognized arts service organization. To find out more, visit the How to Participate page of this site.
The Artistic Advisory Board has selected Paul Schoenfield as the first composer to receive a commission from the Clarinet Commission Collective. Mr. Schoenfield has been commissioned to write a 15 minute work for clarinet and piano. For more information, please visit our “Composers” page or www.paulschoenfield.com.
